Welcome Message From President of ICPALM 2025
Dr Roziana Ariffin
I am proud to say ICPALM 2025 was a culmination of intense collaborative effort among many groups and individuals and we are delighted to reunite our pathology family, clinical and scientific colleagues, our medical consultants, and affiliates after two years of being away. For this year we are excited to report attendees from various countries all over the world. This conference is also graced and supported by numbers of sponsors and exhibitors stemming from various companies and stakeholders from all over Malaysia and abroad. This event was the culmination of a great deal of collective work and collaboration by many in the college of Pathology and of course our smart partnership with our companion diagnostic partners.
Welcome Message From President of The College of Pathologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia
Emeritus Professor Dr. Cheong Soon Keng
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the International Congress of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine 2025 (ICPaLM2025). This conference is organised by the College of Pathology, Academy of Medicine Malaysia.ICPaLM 2025 is a multi-disciplinary conference that aims to bring together various stakeholders from Anatomical Pathology, Hematology, Microbiology, Chemical Pathology, Genetic Pathology, Forensics and Clinical Research to present their clinical data and state-of-art knowledge.
The objective of this conference is to explore the advances in the various fields of pathology, not only to improve diagnosis but also to improve overall patient care. ICPaLM 2025 features esteemed local and international speakers. This event targets to bring together the interest of various stakeholders in all the fields of pathology to share knowledge and experience in pathology and artificial intelligence. We are hoping that the conference will offer immense opportunity for experts and industrial partners alike as well as other stakeholders, from around the globe to exchange ideas and share their knowledge that will drive new paradigm shifts in pathology and laboratory medicine.

50th CPath Anniversary Keynote Lecture
Invited speaker:
Prof. Kwang-Hyun Cho
Professor, Department of Bio and Brain Engineering
Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)
Title: Cancer reversion: A new therapeutic approach from systems biology
Abstract: Current cancer treatments predominantly rely on inducing cancer cell death. However, from an evolutionary perspective, this approach inherently leads to limitations such as drug resistance, recurrence, and adverse side effects. What if cancer cells could be reprogrammed to revert to a state resembling normal cells instead of being destroyed? In this talk, I will introduce a concept of ‘cancer reversion’, a novel therapeutic strategy that aims to reverse cancer cells to a non-malignant state from a systems biology perspective. Furthermore, our recent research findings will be discussed, highlighting how this approach has the potential to overcome the fundamental limitations of current anticancer therapies and provide an eventual cure of cancer while maintaining the quality of life of patients.
